Your data lives on your device
Rackd is local-first. No signup, no email gate. Every workout, set, and PR is written to your phone first. Cloud Sync is optional.
When Rackd starts your trial, it grants one AI generation credit to the device. That credit is tied to the device itself, not to your account.
The grant runs through an idempotent check on the device identifier. That means Rackd cannot accidentally grant the same device the credit twice, no matter how many times you reinstall or reset the trial state. One device, one credit. That's the rule.
If you use Rackd on two devices, say an iPhone and an iPad, each device enters its own trial and each gets its own credit. You don't need to do anything special. It's automatic, and it's intentional. Both devices are new installs, so both get the credit.
One iPhone, one iPad: you start your trial on both and end up with two AI generation credits spread across two devices. Use whichever credit you want to build your first program with Coach.
One device only: you get one credit. Same rule, same result on either end.
The credit count you see in Settings reflects what's available on that device. The numbers won't match across devices, and that's by design.
If you later turn on Cloud Sync and link both devices to the same account, the credits don't get merged down to one. Each device keeps what it earned. Linking your account doesn't claw back your trial credits.

Backup is a one-way file you make yourself. Sync is two-way and continuous. Different jobs, different defaults, both keep your data yours.
Run Rackd on your phone and tablet, or move to a new device, with Cloud Sync. Sign in once on each, your training catches up.
