Getting started
01Read

Half Rack, the free side of Rackd, covers more core workout functionality than any competitor charges for. All core workout functions are unlocked. That is the line, and the rest of this page is the detail behind it.

What is unlocked today

Open the app, install a program, and lift. Everything you need to run a real training block is in your hands the moment the install finishes.

  • All 15 programs in the rack, from 5/3/1 to PPL to bodyweight ladders.
  • All 11 progression systems, picking the right rule for every lift in your program.
  • The full catalog of 453 exercises, with the matcher that tags swaps for you.
  • The active workout flow: warmup ramp, working sets, set logging, rest timer, RPE input.
  • The Coach Note after every session, telling you what changes for next time.
  • The progression math between sessions. Training maxes climb, deloads trigger, targets fill in.
  • Training Hub, with your history, your PRs, your numbers.
  • Local-first storage. Your data lives on your device, written there first, kept there for as long as the app is installed.

That stack is the workout tracker. Most apps charge a recurring fee for a thinner version of the same list. Rackd does not.

What Power Rack adds

Power Rack covers the surfaces that sit around training, not the training itself. One purchase in the app, one tier, everything below included.

  • Cloud Sync. Optional cross-device sync, off by default, on when you ask for it. Part of Power Rack.
  • Web Access. A read of your training data from a browser, useful when the phone is in the locker. Part of Power Rack.
  • Advanced analytics. Deeper splits than what Training Hub shows for free, including projections and muscle balance views. Part of Power Rack.
  • AI program generation. Power Rack includes one AI program credit. Need more, buy a credit pack on rackd.fitness.

None of those gate the workout. If Power Rack never lands for you, Half Rack still runs your training the same way it did the day you installed it.

The principle

Pay once, own it forever. The features you have today do not move behind a paywall later. The app is yours, the data is yours, and the deal does not change without me writing about it on the the deal page first.

Some things were better back in the day. Like paying once and keeping it forever.
